Why Seaweed Farming?

By engaging in seaweed farming, youth can drive economic growth and contribute to environmental conservation simultaneously.

About the Kijana na Mwani Project

The Kijana na Mwani Project is an initiative designed to provide hands-on training and knowledge in seaweed farming and processing. Through this project, participants will learn the entire value chain of seaweed farming, from cultivation to product processing and value addition. This comprehensive training will equip them with the skills needed to create and sustain seaweed-related businesses, fostering a new generation of entrepreneurs in the blue economy.

What You Will Learn:

Eligibility Criteria:

To participate in this exciting opportunity, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Age: 18-35 years old
  • Citizenship: Must be a citizen and resident of Tanzania
  • Membership: Must be a registered member of SOA Tanzania (If you are not yet a registered member, kindly register by filling this form HERE )
  • Passion: A demonstrated interest in ocean conservation and the sustainable blue economy
