Prof. Dr. Ioannis Tsipouridis
Professor Ioannis is a leader in renewable energy, with a career of over 45 years. He began his journey in 1978 at Leeds University with a Ph.D. in Solar Energy, examining light conversion efficiency and hydrogen production. Starting as a junior engineer at Greece's Public Power Corporation, he advanced to CEO of its Renewables subsidiary and held positions in government energy and climate offices. He has served as Chairman of the Wind Energy Association of Greece and Vice Chairman of the European Wind Energy Association. Prof. Ionian has participated in key climate conferences like COP21 to COP29.
Based in Kenya, he works as a consultant and professor, advocating for a net-zero carbon economy through renewables and energy efficiency. He opposes climate denial and stresses the urgency of ambitious climate action.
