Ms.Patricia Furtado de Mendonça

Patricia is a Brazilian entrepreneur, the Founder of Acqua Mater and the Global Lead of the Ocean Centres- a joint initiative of the UN Global Compact and Lloyd’s Register Foundation, focused on “putting safety at the heart of sustainability” . 

Recognized as an “ImPact Professional” by UN Global Compact Brazil, she is a Steering Committee Member of Ocean Literacy With All (OLWA), a UN Ocean Decade Programme led by IOC-UNESCO. She actively mentors and advises youth-led global organizations working at the nexus of water, ocean, and climate – such as Waterlution and the Sustainable Ocean Alliance. 

In the last few years, she has co-directed the documentary ‘We Are Water’, and co-organized the book ‘A Wave of Women for the Sea’. Patricia is a frequent speaker at high-level international events, especially within UN environments.
