Mr.Bahati S. Mayoma

Dr. Bahati is currently a lecturer at the University of Dar es Salaam, holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Risk from Roskilde University, Denmark, and a Bachelor’s degree in Aquatic Environmental Sciences from the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. 

With over 9 years of experience, he specializes in sediment and water quality assessment, ecological health assessments, and environmental planning for freshwater and marine projects. His research focuses on solid waste management, particularly in characterizing municipal solid waste and reducing aquatic litter by converting it into useful products. He also addresses microplastics, which evade waste systems, affecting aquatic ecosystems. Mr. Bahati organizes voluntary cleanup campaigns in Tanzania and Lake Malawi/Nyasa, supervises litter projects, and has coordinated cleanup initiatives with NGOs.
